Your information. Plainly explained.

Who looks after your information

James Morris is responsible for the personal information collected through this site. For questions or privacy requests, use the contact form or write to hello at jamesnmorris dot com.

When you send a message

The contact form sends your name, email address, organisation if you give one, the topic you choose and your message to me by email. I use these details to reply to you and, if you want to go ahead, to discuss and arrange the work. There is no mailing list and no automatic sign-up.

For messages about a role or project, processing is necessary to take steps at your request before a contract. For messages sent on behalf of an organisation, the basis is my legitimate interest in replying to a business enquiry. I review each message myself.

How your message reaches me

Vercel hosts the site and processes the form request. Resend sends the message to my email inbox, where my email provider handles it. The site does not save messages to a separate database. These providers may process technical and delivery information, and may process data outside the UK under their data protection terms. Contact me for details of the providers and transfer safeguards.

How I use AI tools

I may use AI tools, such as Claude, to help me prepare for a call or draft a reply. This may mean sharing information from your message with the AI provider. I do not use these tools to make decisions about you.

How long information is kept

I keep correspondence for as long as I need it to handle your message and any work that follows, plus any period required for accounting or legal records. Contact me if you would like your message deleted.

Your choices and rights

Sending a message is optional. I need your name, email and a short message to reply. You can ask for access to your information, correction, deletion or restricted use, and for a portable copy where that applies.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Use the contact form, or write to hello at jamesnmorris dot com, to use any of these rights. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Cookies

The site uses no analytics or marketing cookies, tracking pixels or third-party embeds. Images, fonts and short silent videos are served with the site.

Keep sensitive information out

Please only send your own contact details and a general description of what you need. Do not include confidential business information, sensitive personal information, passwords or other people’s details.
